Gina Keidong

Visual Artist & Art Educator

Gina has been a practicing potter for over 15 years and focuses her efforts on functional work. Her personal flare and years of experience are evident in her abstracted glazing techniques and Japanese "Wabi-Sabi" philosophy.

Gina’s paintings are representational of the the worlds within us. Working from the point of view of individual understanding, she offers the viewer the opportunity to immerse themselves into a new world.  While some pieces of her work are identifiable in subject matter, the essence of each piece is in the understanding that they originate from nothing. Often working on multiple pieces at once, Gina allows the work to appear on its own and doesn't do much planning. Each piece in this collection is individual as well as part of the whole.

Gina works as a traditional Art teacher in Fox Lane Middle School in Bedford, NY. She also teaches Pottery at Putnam Arts Council in Mahopac NY. Gina studied Art Education at SUNY New Paltz and received a M.S. Ed. in Visual Arts Education in 2012.
